A little more about me....
As you read before, my obsession for wildlife began as a young pipsqueak, but you already know this so lets skip a few years.....
When I was 18, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to tag along on a research field trip to a South African wildlife reserve for a fortnight, every wildlife enthusiasts dream! I stayed at 'Mankwe Wildlife Reserve' and whilst I was there, my mind was blown!, so much so that I traveled back a week after I returned.......
During my trip, I was equipped with a very basic Fujifilm compact digital camera and an even more basic JVC Digital Video Camera, but I made the most out of what I had.
This was also where I developed a passion for the conservation of our natural history so I was delighted to aid the wildlife reserve in capturing and relocating a variety of wild animals, patrol the site for poaching snares and reserve maintenance.
This was undoubtedly the point where I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life, film and photograph wildlife.
I then spent the next 3 years studying for a Ba Hons in Film and Television Production at Aberystwyth University. I bought a Canon 1000D with a basic kit lens to see me through University and actually, I loved the little camera....in fact, I can't bring myself to sell it!
During my degree, I was able to use a very wide variety of standard and high definition film equipment, and by the end I had both well honed and sharpened technical skills.
After cementing this as what I really aspired to do with my life, I bought a canon 5D mark II with a few lenses.
I was asked by a professional film maker to assist on a couple of projects where I learned more about the industry and how things work within a professional environment, along with professional camera skills.
Since all of this I have met some amazing people, gained some true friends and travelled to some incredible locations. Please peruse my galleries to see what I've been upto.
